SAFREA Gauteng South hosts busy July coffee meetup
Twenty people gathered at Better Joburg yesterday for the region's second coffee meetup. The event, a regular networking, collaboration and SAFREA engagement platform, proved yet again to be an energising one.
While the SAFREA Google Group remains one of the most vibrant communications tools for sharing resources, the coffee meetups provide a space for the social cohesion and human contact that’s often lacking in a freelancer’s working world.
“I was delighted to be able to put faces to names”, explains Helen Grange, a veteran journalist of 31 years who has been successfully freelancing for the last decade.
New member Busani Moyo also made an appearance, describing how he transitioned from a career in teaching and human resources to making a living from freelance writing through platforms like Upwork and Freelancer.com.
Thanks to everyone who made it, and to the regulars who join us every month. It’s through your contribution to these events and discussions that we hope to make the most out of Safrea in the weeks, months, and years to come.
Until next month, Happy freelancing!
The SAFREA Coffee Meetup is a national phenomenon that takes place around the country, bringing regional members together to chat, share and learn. The Gauteng event takes place every second Wednesday of the month from 10am to 12pm at Better Joburg.
