The SAFREAN February 2018
Bringing you the latest news in South African freelancing
MESSAGE FROM SAFREA
To say that February flew by is probably an understatement for most. On our side, we've been busy revamping the SAFREA website (a work in progress), getting ready for the AGM and - most excitingly - launching our 2017/2018 Rates Survey.
If you haven't filled out the survey yet, please take a few minutes to do so. Your contribution is a valuable part of helping freelancers get paid what they're worth. Plus, you stand a chance of scooping a year's free SAFREA membership!
As we head into the third month of the year, we're pleased to announce two fabulous events to help keep that freelance ball rolling - we hope to see you there.
Before we go any further, though, huge thanks to this month's featured member, Natalie Field, for our beautiful newsletter images. Simply scroll down to find out more about this creative.
If you are a photographer and would like to share your work here or on our social media platforms, get in touch with our social media manager, Laura Dubber.
Wishing you all a marvellous March!
SAFREA IN THE NEWS
SAFREA is proud to announce the launch of the 2017/2018 SA Freelance Media Industry and Rates Survey! This is a critical tool to gather relevant information on the sector and assess current rates trends, to help you set the financial parameters for your freelancing business. We ask all readers to complete the survey and encourage your connections to do the same.

Specialising in the art of storytelling, Natalie works to bring together elements such as location, styling, lighting and retouching to create contemporary narratives.
Natalie's first solo exhibition will be held at the Berman Contemporary art gallery in Sandton, from April 5-19. Titled Human.Nature, the exhibition invites us into a profound state of existential awareness, in which we consider humanity and our relationship with nature: both the external environment as well as our inner biology.
