I hold several degrees from South Africa and the United Kingdom.
A PhD from Oxford University (UK, 1992), A Masters of Arts degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, An Honours degree from University of the Witwatersrand, Bachelors degree from Vista (now University of Johannesburg, Soweto, 1985)
I also completed several certificate programmes from the University of Cambridge (English Proficiency), Cape Town University (Copy Writing, Small Business Management, Export and Import management, Advanced Project Management, Health Assessor, Writing Course, Executive Coaching, Practical Labour Course, Business Risk Management, and Financial Management); and from the University of Johannesburg (Life and Business Coaching).
I am an accredited facilitator, assessor and moderator with the Education Training and Development Practices (ETDP) Seta, the Services Seta, as well as the Public Sector Seta.
I am the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Fresh Thinking Holdings, (est. 2006). The company has several subsidiaries: Fresh Thinking Technology (2011), Fresh Thinking Coaching (2011), Fresh Thinking Consulting (2011), Fresh Thinking Capital (2006), Fresh Thinking Publishing (2014), and Fresh Thinking Business School (2014).
Fresh Thinking Coaching, which is registered with Coaches and Mentors of South Africa (COMENSA) has over 2000 leaders and public sector executives enrolled in its executive and leadership coaching programmes. Fresh Thinking Coaching has one of South Africa’s largest public sector coaching programmes. Dr Khosa is the recipient of COMENSA’s 2014 Coach of the Year Award in Gauteng.

I have also edited 5 academic books, written over 200 manuscripts and publications, and edited some of which appeared in accredited Journals. Fresh Thinking Business School (est. 2014) offers a number of training programmes offered by facilitators, assessors, and moderators who are accredited by the Public Sector Seta (Pseta), Services Seta and the ETDP Seta.
I have coached, mentored and advised individual executives and entire departments in the public and private sectors. Partial client list: Department of Home Affairs, Government Employee Medical Scheme, Film and Publication Board, (CCMA) and Westonaria Municipality.
Executive Management Positions
Previous work experience:I was the founding General Manager of the MTN Foundation, which was launched by Dr Nelson Mandela in 2001). I was also previously Research Director of Democracy and Governance (1998 – 2000) and later as Executive Research Director of Democracy and Governance (2000 – 2001) at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC).
At the time of my tenure at the HSRC, I became an independent policy analyst for eTV (1999), for SABC (1999 and 2000), and for the Wall Street Journal (2000). Several national and international media have solicited my views on the nature of South African transformation, governance and democracy.
Established and directed the Centre for African Transformation (CART) (1996 – 1998). CART was a multi-disciplinary research institution that managed several transformation policy projects for national clients, including the Office of the Presidency, Transnet, KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Affairs and Tourism, National Department of Agriculture, National Department of Public Works, Centre for Policy Studies (CPS), Municipal Demarcation Board (MDB), Gauteng Department of Transport and Public Works, Office of the Premier KwaZulu-Natal, Umgeni Water, and the National Institute for Economic Policy (NIEP).
I was a strategic team member of the Presidential Review Commission (PRC) appointed by Dr Nelson Mandela in 1997. As an author, speaker, mentor, coach, executive advisor, motivator par excellence, course developer, training facilitator, programme evaluator, policy analyst, researcher, strategist, planner, management expert, project manager, consultant and more, I am consireded by collegues and friends to be a true African Renaissance man … with extraordinarily influential connections and partners in North and South America, Europe, India and, of course, in Africa – especially South Africa.
