With more than ten years in the freelance writing world, I have experience in news, feature writing and blogging. While I have focused largely on environmental and conservation topics I also have interest and experience in travel and general writing. Amongst others, I have written for the Daily Maverick, Business Day, Cape Times, The Herald, The Daily News, The Star and Africa Geographic. I have a certificate for non-fiction writing from Penguin Random House as well as a copyediting certificate from UCT. I am currently writing a novel.
Having completed a diploma in journalism in 1996, I followed a ten-year career in the Cape Town film industry as a camera assistant and later a camera operator - back in the days of 35mm film making. In 2006 I changed careers to focus on my writing. I worked as a sub-editor and journalist for a Garden Route newspaper. During my maternity years, I wrote a blog (www.twinsandchickens.blogspot) as well as feature articles for magazines such as Sawubona, South magazine and Living and Loving. I now freelance for a variety of publications. I live on a farm in the Garden Route route with my husband and three children.
