Journalism is my passion. I am one of those fortunate people who discovered at an early age, what I wanted to be and where I wanted to go.
By having the opportunity to be a journalist I learned so much about myself and grew tremendously in my work ethics and in my personal life. It allowed me to discover what I am good at and what I can still work on to become a better-rounded person.
Working at a community newspaper for four years I learned to work with people from all walks of life. This enabled me to develop my communication skills and helped me to understand how to deal with difficult people.
As a technical writer for Media in Africa, I refined my writing and research skills as this job requires me to become an expert on the topics that I am writing about. Having not had any previous knowledge of the industries that the magazines covers, I was thrown into the deep end and had to quickly familiarize myself with the industries. Now I know that I am highly resourceful and resilient.
My next career move took me to Agri Connect where I became a true agricultural journalist. I was there for more than four years and got the opportunity to develop my editing and leadership skills further by becoming an assistant editor. I came to take responsibility for various publishing tasks, challenging me to grow, and build on my experience.
I am looking forward to any new opportunities that await me as a journalist.
