Born and raised in the United States, Annie moved to South Africa in May 2015 after receiving her Masters of Global Policy Studies from the University of Texas. She began freelancing in January 2017 and focuses mostly on research, writing and editing on issues of security, humanitarian work, environment and conservation, policy and related topics. Annie has been published in her research work covering relationships between African states and North Korea, resources for African states looking to implement chemical, biological, radiological and chemical legislation, and open data initiatives in development. She is interested in development in Africa, especially in southern Africa, which is what brought her to this part of the world. In addition to her Masters degree, Annie has a BA in Political Science from the College of Charleston where she graduated with honours. She is looking for more freelancing opportunities as she grows her portfolio and increases her network through initiatives such as SAFREA.
