Sisanda Nkoala holds an MPhil in Rhetoric from UCT, having also done her BA Honors in Political Communication and her BA in Film and Media Production also at UCT. She is currently a lecturer at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and her areas of focus are broadcast journalism, media law and court and crime reporting. Before going into academia, she was a journalist at the SABC where she won an award for various features she produced. She's also worked as a news anchor for Good Hope Fm and in the community radio sector. In her private capacity, she runs a publishing business that helps ordinary people write and tell their stories.
