I have worked as a freelance sub-editor for Independent Newspapers from March 2007 to date. It has been an incredible learning experience. A hard-working and inspiring team provide investigative journalism, incredible photos and meticulous subbing.  It is a dynamic environment driving everyone to achieve their highest goals.

I have worked for the Parliamentary Monitoring Group as an editor and document officer for five years. This involved editing parliamentary meetings from the National Assembly, National Council of Provinces and ad hoc committees. I also trained interns/monitors. We worked hard to maintain the PMG website, with a turnover of 30-60 new meetings per week.

I was an information analyst at the TRC (Truth & Reconciliation Commission). I was honoured to be part of the reconstructive process in building a better South Africa. Thousands of cases of victim and perpetrator human rights violations were examined resulting in reparation and rehabilitation for many victims and amnesty for perpetrators after disclosure of details of violations.

I was a contributing editor at Eduwrite, an educational materials consultancy, for two years. I edited and proofread study guides, learner guides and facilitator guides. All guides were based on SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority) unit standards. The learning materials have been published by the WCED (Western Cape Education Department), International Colleges Group and Boland Colleges.

Current voluntary work: I have been part of the Boorhaanol editing team which has been publishing popular  magazines in Ramadaan for the past 20 years.
