I am a freelance writer, editor, researcher, proof-reader and photographer. My background is newspaper journalism (25+ years from cub reporter, feature writer, sub-editor, news editor  to associate editor) and journalism skills trainer/consultant.  As a former head of the University of Natal's Media and Publications Division and editor/managing ed of Focus magazine & others, I have experience in academic writing and editing and continue to edit Masters and Doctoral theses. As managing editor at Artworks Communications I conceptualised, wrote and edited corporate publications from in-house communiques to annual and sustainability reports, to travel publications for provincial and district municipalities.

I'm currently "of no fixed abode", travelling the byways of South Africa and neighbouring countries with my photo-journalist husband. We've gathered stories and photographs aplenty and now focus on travel writing, with a particular interest in natural science, wildlife and history. I continue to write and edit, on commission, on environment, health, education and news, interviews and profiles. I have been published in:
Sunday Tribune, Independent Online, Saturday Star, The Mercury, Daily News, SA Country Life, Crest, Focus, By The Way, ToGoTo, SA Caravan & Outdoors, and Land Rover 4x4 (UK), Musgrave (Lifestyle) Magazine, Ezempilo Health Matters (among others) and produced:
Explore Swaziland (guide), Discover the places and people of the Pondoland Wild Coast, Heritage and Culture of the People of the Pondoland Wild Coast, Visitor guides to The Battlefields of Amajuba and Umzinyathi, Pietermaritzburg Midlands, KwaZulu-Natal North Coast, Braby's KwaZulu-Natal Trade Directory.
