Safeeyah Kharsany is a journalist and sub-editor by training. She has worked at Media24 as a sub-editor, United Colors of Benetton’s Fabrica as a writer and researcher and at Al Jazeera Network as a producer before leading its Africa offerings for the website.

She returned to South Africa and worked for the Global Investigative Journalism Network where she led and developed networks for its first conference in Africa as its Africa Editor. She now freelances while also furthering her studies. She takes on the lead of Safrea’s Communication portfolio with a vision to reignite the portfolio to best serve its members. She will also lead the Gauteng South region with a view to facilitate the vibrance within its large but active membership.
