There is a lot of exciting news to discuss in this, my final message as SAFREA Chair, but before I get on to that, I would like to take this opportunity to thank every single person who has made my term in office so worthwhile. Of course, there are always events (and people!) who make a role such as this a little more challenging, but one thing that 2020 has taught me is that there is always a silver lining.
You would have seen that the new SAFREA website has been launched. Various factors meant that we had to get it up and running even though we know that there are still tweaks to be made and inconsistencies to fix. We are looking forward to your feedback so that we can make it as good as it can possibly be. Thanks to Craig Strachan, Paul Bedford and David Papenfus for all the hard work.
One of the inconsistencies also points to another bit of exciting news. The Corporate Identity of SAFREA has been in need of an overhaul for a while now. Thanks to the dedicated whip cracking of the Eastern Cape and Free State Chair, Lize Hayward, and the beautiful design work of Brandon James, we now have a CI that we can be proud of. As the website is finalised, the logos will all be updated. You’ll see the new CI on our social media pages too, and in our email signatures and PowerPoint slides, among others.
The new Exco will officially be constituted in the next few weeks, and the next Newsletter will introduce you to the team and outline their portfolios.
