Is ChatGPT a threat to freelancers in the media and communication industry, how accurate and current is its content and what is its role in the academic world?

Members of Safrea’s Eastern Cape region discussed the impact of GhatGPT, the latest Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbot, at their monthly Coffee Club. Their conclusion was to embrace this new tool as a research assistant. “Use it as a vehicle so that you do not spend that much time on the drudgery of information gathering. Craft the basics, then add your insights. We have to use it responsibly as more tools are being developed to detect AI plagiarism,” said Ricky Woods, who facilitated the conversation.

On the question whether ChatGPT will replace lawyers, teachers and journalists, Ghat GPT replied, “No, but I can assist.”
