Leonie Bolleurs is hardworking and loves to learn new things. She cannot wait for the next adventure, doing things she has never done before – both in her personal and work life.

Please tell us more about what you do and how long you’ve been a freelancer.

I have been a freelancer since April 2019. I do copywriting, corporate campaigns and I also coordinate the process to get publications done – from sourcing quotations, to getting the final product delivered to my client.

What does a day in your life look like?

Once my son is off to school in the morning, I make time for a quick cup of coffee and a brisk walk in the neighbourhood before I start my workday, going through emails and working on whichever project/s I am busy with. In the afternoons I move between school responsibilities such as sport and homework and work.

Where/how do you find inspiration?

Listening and looking. It differs. Sometimes someone will say something during an interview (especially if it is personal, it may connect with me), or I will see a unique design, photograph, use of font or even a beautiful object that will inspire me.

What advice do you have for other freelancers?

You can do it! If you have worked for an employer, it takes a big leap of faith to do your own thing. But it is not impossible. If that is what you want to do and you believe that you have something to offer, go for it!

How long have you been a Safrean, and why are you a member of Safrea?

I have been a Safrean since June 2019, mainly for the networking and development opportunities that Safrea offers. I believe that it is important to keep on learning and updating one’s skills. The networking is also valuable. We really can learn from each other.

What is your work/life motto?

Have faith and dream big. Nothing is impossible.
