You know that any organisation is only as good as its people. A membership organisation like Safrea is no different. It needs members, who are prepared to spend some time, to meet the needs of all members. As an eclectic mix of professional people with diverse talents, experience and needs we can unlock the power of collaboration to truly empower our members. I call on YOU be part of the solution!

With our AGM coming up on 31 May, the time has come to ask you to make your unique contribution to Safrea. We need you to nominate and elect members to serve on our three levels of committees as a professionally managed organisation – Oversight Committee (OSC), Exco, and regional committees. We also invite you to step forward and nominate yourself.

What are we nominating for?

Have a look at the current OSC and Exco portfolios on our website. OSC, which plays a non-executive and strategic role within Safrea, has two vacant positions. The requirements are Safrea membership of five years, having served successfully as a Safrea office bearer, sound financial understanding and a good track record in their field of expertise. What is the carrot?

These are esteemed positions to hold within an NGO. The exposure contributes to both one’s professional and personal development and can significantly enhance one’s CV.

End of my term

As my term as Chairperson comes to an end, I would like to extend my best wishes to the incoming Chairperson and Exco. I have full confidence in your capabilities and dedication to take Safrea to greater heights. I am humbled by the opportunity to have served you and I am grateful for the trust you have placed in me.
