Safrea calls on its members to self-nominate and nominate other members before 28 May at 12:00 to serve on its Exco and Regional Committees in the new term. Leonie Bolleurs, Chairperson of the Free State region, tells us what she gained from serving on one of Safrea’s Regional Committees.
“Serving Safrea automatically made me an involved member. The only way to gain value from Safrea is to seize the opportunities presented to you and make yourself available to connect with other members and potential members. In doing so, we grow ourselves, Safrea and the freelance profession.”
“From a personal perspective Safrea helped me to deal with the isolation that freelancers often face. It provides opportunities to network and connect with other professionals and like-minded people in the same field. Our occasional online and face-to-face meetings help us to stay connected and to hold each other accountable for applying the insights and lessons learned. We also enjoy valuable discussions and a few laughs during our Friday check-ins.”
“I have gained knowledge on industry-specific topics and practical skills that I can apply to enhance my personal brand. Our workshops were extremely valuable as they were practical, and focused on applicable topics such as finance for freelancers, social media, building personal brands and connecting with potential clients. We also explored free applications that benefitted all such as Canva and Chat GPT. Our members confirmed that the workshops not only developed their skills, but also helped them to benchmark against others in the industry.”
“I was fortunate to be surrounded by a supportive community of freelancers – together we made a positive contribution to the profession in the Free State. Nominate yourself and your fellow members today, to gain the power of positive collaboration!”
